Do you have Social Anxiety?

Do you get really nervous for job interviews?

My video will be available to watch from 9am on Sunday 7th August! I post a new video every 2 weeks so make sure you SUBSCRIBE to my channel to get notifications when I post up new videos!

In this video, I share how Social Anxiety makes me feel and how I manage this in a job interview situation. Anxiety is different for everyone, but this is how I deal with mine during social situations. If you have any other coping mechanisms for your Social Anxiety? Why not let me know in the comments...

[] SOCIAL ANXIETY FOR ME: -

  • Cold Sweats

  • Shaking

  • Fidgeting

  • Hyperventilating

  • Feel Sick

  • Feeling of Dread and Fear

  • I Want to Run Away

[] WHEN SOCIAL ANXIETY HAPPENS FOR ME: -

  • Going to meet new people

  • Visiting somewhere new or unfamiliar

  • Walking in to the pub/club on my own to meet friends

  • Job Interviews

  • Going to the shop

  • When the phone rings

  • When the door knocks

[] HOW I MANAGE MY NERVES: -

  • Slow deep breathes

  • Admire my surroundings and try to get more comfortable

  • Suss out where a water fountain is or where I can get a drink

  • Suss our where the toilets are

  • Read signs, leaflets or magazines if available

  • Give myself pep talks (out loud or in my head) to help rationalise the situation

[] REMEMBER - Be patient with yourself... You wouldn't expect someone else to get it right first time. My coping mechanisms have been a labour of love and pain and I have worked them out over time and figured out what works best for me. DEEP BREATHES are pivotal for me to cope with my anxiety in any situation so I strongly suggest to start there.

[] RATIONALISE! - Try to set your nerves to the environment you are in. If there is no threats, then realise that and try to relax by taking a few deep breathes and find a sign to read or art to admire, or just have a sip of water.
