What is Self-Care? - In this video (Link above) I highlight the definition of self-care, I give you some suggestions of self-care activities and remind you to stop feeling guilty for looking after yourself. If you need a pep talk to encourage some self love, then come on in!
SELF-CARE ACTIVITIES (This list isn't exhaustive and you should listen to yourself to see what interests you and what suits you best): -
* Have a bath/shower
* Take a walk round the block or somewhere in nature
* Meditate (This takes practice but once you get there you won't regret it)
* Puzzle Games
* Start a new hobby or pick an old one up again
* Exercise (listen to your body and go at your own pace)
* Go to the hairdressers or nail salon
* Read a book
* Write a journal
* Visit Family or Friends
* Have a night out with friends
* Treat yourself to a spa treatment
* Go on an adventure somewhere new or somewhere local you've wanted to visit for ages!
REMEMBER - Self-Care is a necessity not a luxury and so we MUST take the time out for ourselves to keep us on top. So please don't feel guilty when you spend your hard earned cash on something for you! That's why we work after all!
A GOOD QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELF IS - 'WHAT DO I WANT TO GET OUT OF LIFE AND WHAT CAN I REALISTICALLY DO ABOUT IT NOW?' - AND YOU MAY WELL FIND YOUR SELF-CARE IN YOUR ANSWERS.
